Damage Prevention is a shared responsibility between the utility companies, the excavators and the Call Before You Dig Center. Here are some methods and examples which makes IUPPS a leader in the industry of damage prevention.

Mission Statement:

To educate contractors & the general public of the importance of having the underground facilities located before they engage in any type of excavation, and to promote safe working habits while they are working near those facilities. Thus reducing accidental dig-ins and disruption of service to our Members.

To obtain our mission in 2007, IUPPS used Radio, Targeted Mailings, Trade Shows, and Presentations at Industry events and company Safety Meetings.

Through effective targeted campaigns and promotional items, IUPPS is a leader and visionary in the industry of Damage Prevention. IUPPS works with the excavators, advising on CGA best practices, to help lower utility damages resulting from a lack of knowledge.
